Colloquial Greek, Routledge, written by Niki Watts. The 2nd edition was published in 2004.
Written with both self-study and class learning in mind, it includes extensive vocabulary and a plethora of exercises. Although grammar forms a necessary element of learning any language, when writing this book the aim was to make learning Modern Greek as much fun as possible, with a liberal sprinkling of humour and cultural material to introduce the learner not only to the language itself but also, more ambitiously perhaps, to some of the rich content of Greek life.
Greek Phrasebook, Hodder & Stoughton Educational, written by Niki Watts.
This was compiled as an essential phrasebook for travellers to both Greece and Cyprus. It includes brief notes on what the traveller to both countries can expect in areas such as accommodation, health, car hire, banks and travel.
In addition to the books Niki has written, Translexis has also been involved in the compilation of the volume on Cyprus as part of the Collins Traveller series for HarperCollinsPublishers.
Translexis was also closely involved in the writing of the Greek Phrase Finder and the Collins Traveller Greek Phrase Book & Dictionary for HarperCollinsPublishers.
We discuss with the publisher their requirements and market for a particular project. Often, the publisher will already have similar titles in other languages or countries in circulation.
We can then provide a proposal for a Greek title, write and edit a book and proof read it once it has been typeset by their printer.
